Professional Experience
• 2006-2009 Center for Appalachian Studies and Services
Graphic Design, Illustration and Page Layout for published magazine "Now and Then." Creation of identities for University areas of study. Creation of fundraiser brochures and documentation. Creation of Documentary book,"A day before yesterday, Appalachia, by Kenneth Murray." Duties include graphic design, page layout and consultation with client.
• 2003 – 2005 – Vicarious Visions – Lead Artist/Artist
Responsibilities as Lead Artist for Spiderman PSP included management of all art team and art assets. As well as management of Off Site art team in St. Petersburg Russia. Work onsite with Vicarious Visions as Lead as well as communicate with artist in Russia through Email and I.M. Travel to Russia to train Artist in art pipeline and review work first hand. Insure all art is completed on time and ready for review by Art Directors. Make sure art is changed according to review requests. Report directly to Project Manager. Responsible for testing new engine features as they are related to Art production. Create new character models and test animations. Create new special FX. Create Level geometry based on Design Group’s documentation. Train local and offsite artist in the use of the game engine as well as new techniques in Modeling and animation.
U.V. mapping of Levels as well as Vertex lighting. Scheduling tasks months in advance and estimating time for project completion. Making contingency plans based on “what if’s.”
Responsibilities as Artist for Madagascar DS included Modeling and U.V. mapping of new levels and mini games. Training Artist who are accustomed to working in 2D sprite based games to work within a 3D game environment this also included animation.
Responsibilities as Artist for Batman Begins PSP included creating a level demonstrating the style and feasibility of creating a 3rd person game based on the movie for the PSP.
Responsibilities as Artist for Herbie, Fully Loaded DS included creation of high poly engine parts and pick up items that were rendered out as sprites.
• 2001-2003 - Sunstorm Interactive - Lead Artist/Artist
Responsibilities include but not limited to: creating concept art, models, characters, textures and animations. Responsible for meeting milestone deadlines, producing art on schedule, creating art asset lists and managing lists. Assigning art related tasks to all artists on the project. Responsible for individual artist reviews regarding salary increase as well as performance. Scheduling and conducting meetings related to all art content and its implementation. Maintaining a strong communication line with programming leads for updated engine technology, while relaying and educating artists on its use.
Animating all characters, items as well as all first person items. Created Animation time management system for use in predicting time to complete total animation process from start to actual in-game use. Game engine experience includes Unreal v.2110 and the Serious Sam editor.
• 1993-2001 - President of small web design firm. Created front-end graphics and navigation for clients. Freelance Illustration for online short stories.
